About this Nominee
Founded in 1991, we are a Bulverde-based, nonprofit food pantry whose mission is to assist individuals and families who are struggling to meet the basic needs of day-to-day living, and to improve their quality of life. We provide families in need with a generous supply of supplemental groceries, hygiene, and household products. We partner with our sister agency, The Bulverde Thrift Store, to provide clothing and other soft goods as needed.
We are currently (in 2024) serving an unprecedented number of clients, with our number of families increasing by more than 30% in a single year.
We rely entirely on our community for the financial, in-kind, and volunteer support that is required to fulfill our mission. We are a partner agency of the San Antonio Food Bank and receive partial funding from the United Way of Comal County, The GVTC Foundation, the McKenna Foundation, and the WalMart Foundation. We appreciate all gifts from our community, and we are careful stewards of donated funds.
